There is no shortage of golfing options in the Columbia Valley! This region is so popular for golfing that it actually has a name, the “Columbia Valley Golf Trail,” a series of eight golf courses between Radium Hot Springs and the town of Fairmont Hot Springs. This hike is 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) with over 1300-meter elevation gain. If you’re looking for a real challenge and have a day to spend, check out the Kindersley Pass and Sinclair Creek Loop. You can start the trail near the Visitor Information Centre, at the southern edge of Radium Hot Springs village, and there are signs along the way to direct you. Back in the 1920s, this historic route was traveled by Ford Model Ts, and there are signs along the way to help educate hikers about this fascinating history. It’s easy and accessible for any level of hiker. Old Coach Trailis a very popular 9-kilometer (5.6-mile) long trail (one-way) with amazing views of the Columbia River. You can pull over at the Kootenay Valley Viewpoint to take in the sweeping, panoramic views of the Mitchell and Vermillion mountain ranges. If you are looking for a photo-op or romantic sunset view, take a drive up the BC-93 northeast for about 15 minutes. Stunning views are par-for-the-course in this corner of BC, but sometimes you just need to get a different vantage point to really enjoy it. Without a doubt, soaking in the Radium Hot Springs is the most popular thing to do in Radium! 2. You can even purchase a punch pass and go multiple times! The best part is that these hot springs are open all year round- so even in the winter you can enjoy them! Because they are owned by Parks Canada, the cost is kept low at about $8 CAD. The hot springs are open year-round and sit within Kootenay National Park. You can jump right into the cool pool to take a swim, or just relax and warm up in the hot pool. The Springs are man-made pools fed by natural spring waters, and provide a place to relax and unwind. Okay, obviously you need to start off by checking out the namesake of this town! Radium Hot Springs is just 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from downtown and are nestled right into the mountainous surroundings. It's a great desert trail.The hot springs are the most popular attraction in the town of Radium! There are no facilities anywhere, so make sure you take enough water. I didn't go as far north as Anthony, so I don't know about the access point there. You have to ride about 1/2 mile along the river levee on gravel to get to the paved trail. As of 3/22/15, Country Club Drive is under construction and it is a nightmare. The trail does go from Country Club Drive in El Paso to Anthony, New Mexico. Be can flash flood when it rains, so watch the forecast for storms. The trail goes parallel to the Rio Grande.tho empty, it's still impressive. The scenery is beautiful! You can see mountains on three sides, and you'll see why they talk about the West Texas sky being bigger than other skies!! You'll see roadrunners, and lots of vegetation. You can park right there, but make sure you park so you can get out when you are done.you DO NOT want to get boxed in by other cars!! Once there, you will see the pavement/path in front of you.
There is a gate with big red circle on it.it is closed. It is JUST AFTER YOU CROSS THE BRIDGE!! You will see a gravel turn off that is only about 50 feet long.
Cross the bridge and the access is IMMEDIATELY, and I mean IMMEDIATELY on the left. There is a Family Dollar store on the north east corner. Go west about 1 mile, JUST PAST the stoplight at Doniphan Dr.
The easiest access point is off of Exit # 2 on I- 10. I looked for the access to this trail, and FINALLY found it by accident! It is NOT marked, so you must know where to go.
